Audiometry trailer - a lovely picture of the back door and some steps. If that doesn't sell it to you nothing will!

About HSMC

HSMC operates its audiometry service via trailer-based testing units which operate from bases in High Wycombe, Tewkesbury and Cardiff, from where we are happy to work nationwide from Cornwall to Aberdeen, Kent to Pembrokeshire. All work is done in-house and we do not sub-contract and audiometry, spirometry or nosie assessment work requested by clients - when you deal with us you really are dealing with HSMC.

HSMC is headed by Adam Jackson, with the audiometry being undertaken by Adam, Kevin, David or Dale. Adam has been undertaking workplace audiometry for the past decade, initially attending British Society of Audiology approved training in the early '90s in Manchester, then spotting an opportunity for some expenses-based fecklessness backed it up with a refresher course in West Virginia. Adam reviews all audiometry reports before they are sent and is a member of the British Society of Audiology as well as CMIOSH.

Also floating around are Marty, who oversees all the admin arrangements with a dictatorial hand, Julia who works on sales and keeping the all-important customers happy, and a part-time accounts chap (another David) who deals with all the horned devils at the Inland Revenue.

More information about us, the audiometry service and chances to win a case of wine can be found on the main HSMC website.

What we will and won't do

We will:

  • Provide a quote for your audiometry or noise assessment within a few hours of your request, same day in most cases.

  • Provide a price for your specific job rather than a set day or test rate.

  • Provide discounts for large or repeat audiometry bookings.

  • Undertake the audiometry with minimal impact on your business.

  • Undertake the tests in purpose-built high quality testing units and not in a meeting room or training room, to give accurate results every time.

  • Conduct the tests in audiometry units which have been designed with a single booth for maximum privacy for attendees.

  • Provide every attendee with a copy of their report along with supporting information on noise, its effects and how to protect their hearing.

  • Provide a comprehensive employers report within a few days of the tests.

  • Give ongoing support, answering questions, etc. relating to the audiometry report all at no additional charge.

  • Send you a simple reminder when any hearing tests become due again.

  • Protect your data.

We will not:

  • Bombard you with sales pitches for other services we offer.

  • Sell you something which you don't need - we will not over-sell and if you don't need something we will tell you.

  • Shroud the audiometry and noise assessment reports in mystery science speak - plain English only.

  • Drag the work out longer than it needs to be to justify time on site.

  • Insist that you work to our hours - we will test when your employees are at work. If that is at 4am on a Sunday morning then so be it.

HSMC is happy to work nationally
