HSMC audiometry prices
Its always the same, you browse the interweb, find a product you would like more information on, click on 'prices' and then all you get is a 'contact us for details' request. We are suitably ashamed but we're no different....
Audiometry prices vary depending on factors such as test numbers, shift
patterns, discounts for larger testing numbers and for repeat customers,
etc. therefore to give an example price here would be misleading.
Businesses concerned about paying for expensive travelling costs should
note that as we aim for 95% occupancy of our audiometry facilities we
are always out on the road therefore until a booking is made we never
really know where we will be coming from or how long that journey will
be therefore tend to largely ignore the travel element for most individual
quotes.

Small number of employees?
We regularly conduct hearing tests for companies with only a handful of employees and try to ensure our prices remain reasonable. For very small numbers of hearing tests on one-day jobs, to increase the value you receive we can offer to provide the mandatory noise awareness training at no extra charge while we are on site.
Another way for smaller companies to save a few bob is to book multiple
years of audiometry testing. For example, if you are looking for tests
this year and then re-tests next year, book both in together and we should
be able to make a reduction based on that.
We also have some clients who only need five or six employees testing and then speak to other companies on their Industrial Estate to get it up to about 20 or so, with the cost of the testing day then being shared between them which can make it very cost-effective.
Larger employer?
Discount rates are available and kick in at test numbers of 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000. We are happy to treat individual companies within a group as a larger employer and apply the discount rate if each company books work at the same time. For example, if a company has three sites with 200 people at each who need a hearing test, if all three book together, (even if we need to travel between them or if they are not all to be done consecutively) that will reach the 500 people threshold and that discounted rate would apply.
Other ways of making the budget go further:
- If you are considering a noise survey
as well as audiometry, book the two together and a discounted rate will
be given.
- If you need noise awareness training
for employees, book it alongside the audiometry and a discount will
be given (even if the training is to be done at a
later date).
- If you have anyone who needs a lung test (spirometry)
we can combine that for you on the same visit. We can also do qualitative
fit tests for disposable and half-face respirators.
- If you have a small site and a noise assessment won't take long, add
vibration assessments to the job to cover the risks of hand-arm vibration
arising from hand tool use.
- We normally invoice following completion of the audiometry work and
only when you receive the final report. If you want to pay up front
then a 10% discount may be yours (for larger jobs) to spend on naughty
loveliness. That's 'naughty loveliness' not 'naughty lovelies' which
is a whole different thing!
